Ik begrijp niet waarom ze besteld mijn factuur, als ze wist dat ik twijfelde en ze vroeg me voor de tijd om de mogelijkheid voor de verandering te controleren. En vooral als ze wist dat het niet mogelijk om te veranderen na het versturen van het verzoek. Niet zo professioneel. Ik kon een boete betalen om het te veranderen, ik wilde alleen maar een kans =(

Hey Karla, Ik weet niet hoe het gaat vanaf het moment dat een kleed besteld wordt, tot het moment dat het effectief in de winkel is (hoeveel tijd er tussen zit,...), dus het kan effectief zijn dat het proces om dit te veranderen zeer moeilijk is voor de winkel. Ik snap dat je teleurgesteld bent, maar je moet 100x nadenken voor je een jurk koopt en je zeker niet laten overhalen door iemand anders (jij moet je goed voelen in je kleed, jij doet het op je grote dag aan!) Hoeveel is de "boete" om het te laten veranderen? Als de geldsom meevalt zou ik de boete betalen en op zoek gaan naar een ander kleed!
Because your title was in English, I'll explain my thoughts in English as well :-) I don't know the proces between ordering a dress and the moment that the dress arrives at the store (how much time there is in between...) So it can be that it's very hard for the store to change this proces. I understand that you are disapointed, but you have to think 100x before buying a dress and surely don't let someone else assure you that it really is a beautiful dress (you have to feel good in the dress, you have to wear it on your big day!) How much do they ask as a "fine" to change your order? If they don't ask too much, I would pay the fine and start your search for your perfect dress!

That is the problem, they don't offer anything, they just said not possible to change, cancelling and anything, I would pay a fine if thy ask for it. But they don't. They should be used to this kind of situations as brides get all the time too much stress, I often see here people selling dresses. That could be even a good business for them, giving a deadline, like one week or something to be able to modify but not cancel and putting a fine.
I don't even think my request is already with Pronovias, so could be possible to change I guess. I know it's my fault, I shouldn't allow people to decide for me. Now it's too late. The dress itself it's beatiful but doesn't fit on me.
Now I just need to fnd out what to do with it. As I won't be happy to use it, and remember my whole life my bad election.

If I'm not mistaken, you've already payed an advance for the dress. If they accept to cancel the order without any cost, I would go and search for another dress (maybe search the internet first, to see if you can find a dress you like more which still is in your price range). Ask a few stores if there's still time enough to order a new dress (one you absolutely love) and if there is and you know another store where you've seen a dress you absolutely love, I personally would drop the first order and make a different one. Of course, this your choice and money, but remember one thing: this will be THE dress on picture seen for the rest of your life, so you have to be happy with the dress.

Normally you have 7 days to return anything you have bought in any belgian store... Of course I do not know what is mentionned in the contract or receipt you have signed. If on that paper it is mentionned then you can not do anything about it I guess. If nothing specific is mentionned, I would try to check with Testaankoop or something like that if you can do anything about it.

Thank you so much girls for the support, well I still have time to find something else as I get marry in July, but the store pushes to buy too, otherwise you can't have it on time as they take 4-5 months to deliver it. And they say that when you go to the appointment you must decide already.
To make the request, they ask for 50% of the dress to start working. And if you cancel, by bye money!! and the receipt indeed, they have there in small letters almost transparent color behind the paper the restriccions. And I didn't see them and they don't say.
But of course as my dutch is not good (google vertalen en ook basis nederlands gebruiken) I didn't understand, I saw them until my boyfriend saw them, and translated for me :S big issue the language eh? :( apparently speaking 3 1/4 languages in Belgium is not enough haha =)
well the lady spoke english but not always.
But I hope I found the solution =)
In the worse of the cases, I will just modify it, to use it for town hall and of course I am getting a new one for the church !! =D I didn't spend a lot in the photographer for this :P I want to be happy to show all those pictures to my children in some years !! =)

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with the shop, I just think that before paying 50% you have to think reeeaaally hard if this is your dress! I don t mean to argue but i have been there as well and have also ordered my dress there ( in october ) and they told me i was just on time ( could be sales talk off course ) because they have to order the dresses way in advance! I was very happy with the service provided.. Anyway if you called within a few days they could have been more helpful of course.

If i were you i would try to call them again, speak in english ( i am sure they understand ) and suggest what you've said here.. Ask if you could change the dress without a refund, but use the money you've paid already as an advanced payment for your next dress... like this they are sure you are going to choose your new dress in their shop because i think that's their issue. We tried already to call, even my boyfriend so in dutch could be easier to maybe negociate but nothing. I am getting an appointment in other store. They insist that the dress in made on my size so they can't change, but how come? if they just ordered, it can not be done yet, no way, but ok. Luckily the dress was not so expensive so I can get a new one =) But I will try to sell this other one, and in the worse of the cases adapt it an use it for other event, don't know, we'll see. At least I still have enough time =)
